Steve Martin became an Emmy winner this past weekend when he attended the annual Governors Awards located in Hollywood. The awards ceremony was put on by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences. Apparently, the occasion was a very emotional one for this married father as he broke down in tears during the middle of his acceptance speech.
Steve Martin and his wife Anne Stringfield both arrived at the awards ceremony donning spectacles. He spoke at the podium wearing a pair of reading glasses that were specifically designed to add a simple look. His wife Anne, on the other hand, wore a pair of brown fashion glasses that had cat eye glasses frames.
During his speech, he gushed about how ‘beautiful as well as smart’ his wife was and expressed gratitude for bringing him a wonderful little girl. Tom Hanks interrupted his speech with laughs by walking up to the podium to take a picture with the award winner.
This Emmy winner has acted in movies such as Father of the Bride, The Pink Panther and It’s Complicated, among many others. He has acted in movies for several decades.
Steve’s fellow attendees included Angelina Jolie, Mark Whalberg, Jennifer Garner, Jared Leto, Matthew McConaughey and Martin Short.
