TMZ reports that the host and her producers don’t want The Queen Latifah Show to be associated with Cosby because of his alleged history. The comedian was booked to promote his new comedy tour.
Cosby, best known for playing family man Dr Heathcliff Huxtable in The Cosby Show, has been accused of grooming, drugging and raping numerous young women from the 1970s until at least 2004.
However, public discussion around the claims have heated up after comedianHannibal Buress called Cosby a “rapist” in a recent stand-up set.“Bill Cosby has the f*****g smuggest old black man public persona that I hate. ‘Pull your pants up, black people. I was on TV in the ’80s. I can talk down to you because I had a successful sitcom’. Yeah, but you raped women, Bill Cosby. So, (that) brings you down a couple notches. ‘I don’t curse on stage.’ But yeah, you’re a rapist,” Buress said at a Philadelphia show on October 16.
“Dude’s image, for the most part, it’s f*****g public Teflon image. I’ve done this bit on stage and people think I’m making it up ... That s**t is upsetting. If you didn’t know about it trust me. When you leave here, Google ‘Bill Cosby rape.’ It’s not funny. That s**t has more results than ‘Hannibal Buress’.”
